A health coach can spend the time to help someone figure out what their personal health and wellness issues are, how they intersect and affect them holistically and help them develop strategies to overcome them, whether it’s that they want to lose weight, reduce stress, sleep better or lower the risk of chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.
A health coach can liaise with various kinds of health professionals to help patients achieve sustainable progress. A health and wellness coach helps clients make positive and lasting changes to their health.
Health coaching is the use of evidence based skillful conversation, clinical interventions and strategies to actively and safely engage clients/patients in health behavior changes.

How does a health and wellness coach work?
Ideally for a period of 6 months, meeting once every fortnight for an hour to check in, discuss, strategise, recommend and assess.
Most often, once you start working with a health and wellness coach your doctor visits become relegated to purely critical issues since you tend to enjoy great health throughout. Some renowned doctors even recommend working with a health coach for a minimum of 3 months before they agree to see the patient since most often clients are able to reverse or control most/all of their symptoms through the strategies executed by them which makes the jobs of the doctors easier and doesn’t make the patients dependent on medication.
For example, if your child is struggling in a certain subject, you decide to get an additional tutor. If you go to the gym or want to train for a marathon, you get a trainer. You are struggling in pushing your career forward, so you get a mentor.
